Well Atlanta is a melting pot, NOBODY is from here, so they all have the same "hey I'm not from here, lets be friends" friendly attitude. I really enjoy Midtown, Virginia Highlands, Little 5 Points, and EAV.
I recently moved to northern Midtown and I LOVE it because;
(1) I can Finally walk EVERYWHERE I want to go. And I am 20ft from a MARTA station.
(2) I live in Northern Midtown where it is quiet, still safe, and still VERY accessible to bars/other bar districts (all the ones I listed are a $10 cab ride from home If I am in less-than-walking condition)
(3) The View is better than the other Condos I looked at on Peachtree..I can see Midtown and stone mountain..its beautiful this time of year.

Things I DON'T Like...
I lived in a hotel in Norcross fro 6 weeks while I was house hunting. The traffic up 285 just two exits down to get to Dunwoody is just dismal, all the time. Now I reverse commute up 400 in the AM and back down in the PM, so I don't deal with traffic anymore.
I REALLY like Atlanta, its amazingly diverse, its a progressive city, and the people here are great. It reminds me A LOT of Austin, which I LOVE! Dallas is just a very conserative place, I just didn't fit in there, places like Austin, Chicago, and Atlanta completely fit me.
Happy Hunting!
