So maybe someone else can enlighten me as to just what it is that makes America or the average American so great?
If you have ever heard the adage "America's government is not perfect, but it is the best there is," it might surprise you to learn that no other nation adopted it.
I am not referring to the constitutionally limited indirect democracy of the public servants in government.
I am referring to the "republican form" promised to the states (and people) in Art. 4, Sec. 4, USCON.

In the republican form, the sovereign people are served by government. In the democratic form, the subject people serve government.

In America's republican form, the governments are instituted by compact and are delegated power to help secure - not guarantee - rights. And thus only has power to inflict punishment AFTER the deliberate injury to the person or property, regardless of the manner in which it was accomplished.

In the republican form, the sovereign people directly exercise their sovereignty over that which they absolutely own (or upon unclaimed property). They are served by government, composed of its citizenry, who surrendered their sovereign prerogatives in exchange for political liberties. And though the citizenry may indirectly exercise sovereignty, via ballot, that does not affect the natural liberty nor the personal liberty of the American nationals / free inhabitants domiciled upon their private property within the boundary of these united States of America.

Under the republican form of government, where the people directly exercise sovereignty :
__ People have rights and powers, endowed by their Creator.
__ Citizens have privileges and immunities, granted by government.
__ Government serves the people, but rules the citizens.

Recapping - The real reason why America is unique among all the nations on Earth is that it espouses a republican form of government. And its people were sovereigns - social equals of any other monarch on earth. (This explains why Americans do not kneel nor bow to monarchs)
The irony is that its people have squandered that birthright and volunteered into a socialist democratic form of government, anathema to the original endowment of sovereignty, freedom and independence.

The people of the state, as the successors of its former sovereign, are entitled to all the rights which formerly belonged to the king by his own prerogative.

At the Revolution, the sovereignty devolved on the people and they are truly the sovereigns of the country.

It will be admitted on all hands that with the exception of the powers granted to the states and the federal government, through the Constitutions, the people of the several states are unconditionally sovereign within their respective states.
Ohio L. Ins. & T. Co. v. Debolt 16 How. 416, 14 L.Ed. 997

In America, however, the case is widely different. Our government is founded upon compact. Sovereignty was, and is, in the people.
[ Glass vs The Sloop Betsey, 3 Dall 6 (1794)]

Sovereignty itself is, of course, not subject to law, for it is the author and source of law; but in our system, while sovereign powers are delegated to the agencies of government, sovereignty itself remains with the people, by whom and for whom all government exists and acts.

If you have no knowledge of this, you may be a victim of the world's greatest propaganda ministry. Go to your nearest county courthouse law library and read law for yourself. Ignorance of law is no defense.
