These types of studies often show that many more black people are arrested for marijuana.
What the studies fail to mention, though, is that black people typically buy, sell, and smoke marijuana on the streets. With white people, those activities are often done indoors.
Additionally, the street dealing usually involves strangers whereas the indoor dealing usually involves friends/acquaintances.
I realize I'm stereotyping, and I'm certain there's plenty of exceptions to what I wrote, but the indoor/outdoor thing absolutely makes a difference in terms of arrests.
And, yes, I acknowledge that the white guy may have an advantage over the black guy when caught doing the same thing.
