I would like to purpose a sub forum be started in the Religion and Philosophy Forum for people who practice what's called New age movements or Spirituality. Christianity and Atheism has one, the growing number of people who are involved in a new age movement is proof that we need a sub forum so that we can openly discuss non conventional spiritual practices without interference from the fundamentalists of both Christianity and atheism.
To Quote Imcurious: "[The Christians are allowed a sub-forum on which their beliefs are respected . . . it would be nice to have a space to talk about unconventional spiritual beliefs . . . if it is not your cup of tea there are many other threads to pursue . . . If you wish to debunk the beliefs, you can even start a thread debunking beliefs . . . but is it too much to ask for a little space for people interested in unconventional ideas to be able to explore those ideas freely, without being distracted by having to argue for the merit of the ideas?]"

I would love this too. It would be nice to have an open space for discussing spiritual topics, much like the Christian forums are open to discussing Christian topics, and the Atheism and Agnosticism forums to discuss atheism and agnosticism.
Here's one more vote for a Spirituality forum.

Getting people over here won't achieve much. If you'd like a subforum, the best way is to create threads on the subject. For now, they would be in the general religious forums but once there are enough of them, the Admin might consider adding the place.

Ok, start flooding the religion and philosophy forum with spiritual/new age topics. If you know anyone who is or might be interested let them know too.
I really want to get people talking about these things. Not many people talk about them because they are afraid of the Christian and Atheist who are against everything that isn't their way of thinking.
I am not afraid of these people and wish to talk about the things that interest me in regards to spirituality.

I hope people will do this so we can get a spirituality sub-forum. I for one, am not comfortable posting alternative threads in the Religion Philosophy forum because it is heavily peppered with Christian/Aethiest/Agnostic people who I imagine might attack the ideas. I personally do not have the desire or energy to defend the ideas - that is why a sub-forum would be ideal.

I have actually had several topics deleted in that forum because it isn't seen as a religious or philosophical belief or practice.

Can the moderators say why there is resistance to adding a "spirituality" or "spiritual, but not religious" sub-forum?

You heard from a Senior Moderator when Marka posted, and that trumps anything a moderator will tell you.
Don't take the lack of a subforum as a bias against or resistance to creating one. The general rule is that forums and subforums on any topic are added here when the presence of enough posts AND threads about a topic demonstrates both enough interest in and a need for a separate forum covering that topic.
