How does a person get stars? Just wondering because I see many posts about people getting stars and I am still new around here.
One way to see stars is have somebody hit you on the head....
I'm kidding, you'll get a gold star with every 1800 reputation points, and you'll get rep points from other posters when they "Approve" or like a message you posted.
Also, you'll only get 1 reputation point whenever someone gives them to you with a message you post in the Community Chat forums, but in the Other Topics, you'll get 5 points everytime somebody sends you rep points.

It really does not have to take that long for the truly *motivated* CD user.
There are people on this site who joined quite recently who have lots of those special red star-badge things.
All you have to do is go to Other Topics, Community Chat, or Game/Trivia, and join in. Community Chat is basically a forum for celebrating stars, and if a little rep is given out here and there, well, I suppose people are just sharing the love. Those do add up, especially when a user participates in every single thread.
It looks laborious (and boring) to me but different people use the internet in different ways.
Just go with the flow. Don't cry and moan because someone has more than you. You'll be fine. Remember it's ok to pretend as some do duh...I don't know how i got them!
Thank goodness those gaudy "Rep Fueling" threads the old timers enjoyed are history! Those must have been extremely boring. But as we can see many took advantage of them. My point is be friendly and a conscientious poster and stars will come. No one gets them on their own....no one! It's a sharing of the wealth sorta. Being greedy will get you no where! Happy hunting!
You have to receive reputation by people, if they like your posts they'll give you reputation.
I just got my 1st Gold Star a few weeks ago and i've been here for 4 years, if you're not a frequent poster it's going to take a long time for you to get one.
