Lately it seems like people who want to discuss national political issues have been finding reasons to post political threads outside of the POC forum. I guess it's inevitable that people want to push their political agendas in an election year, and I appreciate that some people have a strong political zeal, but could there be at least one forum on city data where political threads will not be allowed?

I can see that there's a value to having these political discussions, yet for the next six months there will be plenty of us who just don't want to hear it anymore. Any suggestion where we can hide out on city-data and not see any election/political threads? OT Forum might be a good place for this (if it hasn't already been declared a politics-free-zone.)

New Mexico forums?

Terms of Service state: "All posts unrelated to local matters will be deleted or moved. Threads dealing with controversial topics that often degenerate into flame wars, such as politics or religion, may be moved, closed, or deleted by moderators at their discretion without any warning to the participants. "

So we just have local politics...

Hi Caladium! ~ If I'm not mistaken, politics is pretty much taboo in all the forums, with the exception, of course, of the Politics forum and the state forums, where, I would think, local politics may be discussed....until it gets out of hand.

In the California Forums, I allow political discussions IF they specifically pertain to California.

Although it sneaks in every now and then, politics is -- as a rule -- NOT appropriate in O.T. So if you're looking for a politics-free zone, that's probably your best choice.

Thanks Dark of the Moon. The longer I'm here the more I find reasons to appreciate OT.

We allow a politica/religious thread in the R & P forum very seldom and only if it is currently relating to religion but those are generally closed very shortly as they go off topic of religion in about the fourth post. other than that, politics are not allowed.

I agree that OT is a good place for those more interested in friendly discusion with no controversal
debating. I used to hang out there a lot.
