What to do about direct messages that are nothing but personal attacks

What can we do when someone sends a direct message that is nothing but one giant personal attack? Can we send it to some moderator or what? Also, what about posts that are name calling and personal attacks? Can we report them also, other than just a neg rep?

Well, they are just big a**babies that love their illegal buddies, they like nothing more than try to get you with their personal rants because they are too chicken to post it on the forum, personally they crack me up. Bunch of boneheads.

Anyway, yes you can report the Direct message to a administrator or a mod and the triangle in your upper right corner of the post will report that post.

Some people can't handle disagreement; it's just a forum ( a place of opinions) If people can't respect someone else's opinion then they shouldn't visit sites like this one. I would report it, if they don't stop then they can probably be blocked from the site.

Yes, I put him on my ignore list also after I sent copies of his unwanted attacks to me to a moderator.

I would report Pm's that are just personal attacks. Some people need to get a life!
But it seems more and more people will attack anyone with a different view....don't let them get to you! Just ignore them.

Personal attacks are not permitted anywhere on City Data. This includes DMs. You can forward it to a moderator.

In this particular instance, the OP might want to control their indignation about personal attacks considering there were minor personal attacks generated by several parties, including the OP.

Perhaps the best solution in this cae is for folks to settle down a bit, cut each other a little slack, and make use of the Ignore List.

Give it a rest, really. In fact, this thread should have been a DM if you ask me. I think this was nothing more than a scheme to uncover "unfair and biased" moderators. Yawn.
