Oh, good, now I don't have to start a new thread to complain about it.

Yeah, I clicked it off right away! Not a great feature I think. But, some might like it!

FWIW, I turned it off, too. It makes the page too busy (for the way I use city-daya; I turn to city-data throughout the day and need to be able to read it quickly.) Distractions on the side of the page make it difficult to read. I like the sneak preview at the bottom of the page, though.

One other thought--the threads with the most action are usually the ones where a fight has broken out. So in some ways it's a good thing--these threads will now attract trolls and bored people who like to watch people fighting, which might mean they'd stay away from the ones I'm participating in. On the other hand, god forbid one of my threads gets pulled onto that list. And sometimes I've noticed that once trolls get attracted to a thread, they tend to stick around a forum to see what else they can stir up.

I don't usually complain about forum features, but that was REALLY annoying and I immediately turned it off.

Me too - I almost thought something was wonky or it was a sidebar to my email or something. Very distracting.

Isn't that the same live feed that is at the bottom of the main page? Why the dupe?

Turned it off right away. It might not be true but it seemed to make the posts smaller and harder to read. I suspect it was more of a perception thing, though. Still, I gave it the boot.

By the way, my guess is it is different than the "suggestions" at the bottom which are related posts and of the live scroll at the bottom of the main page which is a real-time list of new posts. I don't mind a list of active threads, just not there where it scrunches up my thread.
