What does a "Thumbs Down" icon mean next to a thread title?

I guess it just means "Thumbs Down"

The opposite of "Thumbs Up"

I normally do not use them...

I think it's related to the topic; the context in which the icon is used. For example, if someone started a thread titled, "Governor Smith wants to raise taxes again!" the OP might put a thumbs-down next to it just to reiterate his displeasure with the governor.

Oh, so this is set initially by the OP? I never noticed the option to do so when starting a thread. Thanks!

When you start a thread, look to the bottom below where you enter the text. "You may choose an icon for your message from the following list:" select the icon you want...

When you reply to a post you should also have the same options.. But they don't seem to appear.

Click on the "Go Advanced" button, lower right corner, and you will have options on the right side for icons in the text...
