These two cities have always been linked economically. Gainesville has numerous amenities that Ocala/Marion does not have including access to major cultural and sporting events at the University of Florida, and Shands Hospital at UF - one of the highest ranked hospitals in Florida and the Southeast. They also share radio and television stations in their markets. Gainesville is frequently discussed in the Ocala and Florida forums. Adding Gainesville to the Ocala forum would stimulate increased discussion and organization. This has been requested on numerous occasions over the years and we ask for your consideration. Thank you.
