I just joined today and made my first post which included some external links which I cut and pasted in my post.

When I went to preview my post, the links were there as they should be in blue and clickable.

But after I went to submit my post, the links all were surrounded with 'URL' in brackets and were no longer clickable. I went to edit out the added brackets but they showed up again in the post.

It's frustrating because I see others are somehow able to post clickable links.

How is it done? Thanks.

You don't have enough posts in your history to post links yet.

As a general rule forums like this one limit what new users can post to some degree to keep spam to a minimum.

Try again. I just repped you and you're at 15. That might be enough for you to post a link.

Similar question. What about new members posting photos? I tried and it did not show, so I redid it as an attachment, but I see others can place photos in the body area of the reply. What is the format for that?

Again, you need a qualifying number of posts, this is not the forum support section, read the FAQ, it answers that question and many more.

Thanks! I embedded some photos in another post today without yet having seen your reply and it worked.

Might someone place this thread in the About the Forum section, so that it's more likely to be seen (well, one hopes) by folks having similar difficulties ?
