Split or not split? Almost every internet forum grapples with this. Brand-specific groups here predate my arrival. It sounds like a good idea but for some reason I never go there. On the rare occasions that I visit, I only see months old posts. I have posted threads on specific brands that were later moved. I am sure that was the end of the thread. I wonder how you feel about them?

No. I click the merge button everytime. Split forums are stupid imo. The there is no reason to come here for vehicle specific questions. Chances are there is an enthusiast forum where the problem you are having is well documented and there are solutions available.

Merged? How? Actually, I am not sure I want that either. Most threads are outdated where "last posts" are often months old. I would normally not care but couple of my brand specific threads were moved, which pretty much killed them.

All it does is add a key click, I never bother with brand specific, all merged. I can figure out what interests me without the nanny forum.

For a forum like this one, the brand-specific subforums aren't necessary or really wanted. It's much better not to have them, in my opinion.

I just bought a new car recently and actually used them to look for information. It was so nice that the brands were organized. A lot of thought and work goes into deciding what to do with threads.

Just keep in mind that even if you don't see active posting a lot of people, members and non-members, are reading!

Thanks for your interest!
