I generally access the forum on my Android phone.

Whenever I try to embed a YouTube video into a post, it just shows up as a link to the video.

Like this:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DQ4REYdCkTw

What am I doing wrong?

Try to do this:
YouTube /YouTube - each word inside [ ]
and in the middle, between those [ ]...[/] insert this:
DQ4REYdCkTw (always take only that part of the link to insert)

It will look like this:

You have to it manual. Just to post link will not work (or at least I not aware of any other method)

Make sure you’re copying the URL from your address bar, not YouTube’s share button.

It doesn't matter because both will give him the YouTube tag:
https://youtu.be/DQ4REYdCkTw <<< this is the YouTube share link. He only needs the bolded part.

Just remember to put
on the front of that part and
with the / at the end of that part.

Sorry, as soon I post it correctly, I get YouTube video picture ..

It doesn't matter which way I do it.

Same thing happens.

Did you check your City-Data url?
Make sure it's switched to secure server. It should have https in the address.

Did you try the methods mentioned above? Please try to post youtube embed link and I will check your post again.

Interesting. For me, it does make a difference.

This is the URL from the Share link:

https://youtu.be/kGYc6HxloJo

And this is the URL from the address bar:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGYc6HxloJo

And I don't have to type in any tags. It's a simple copy/paste. I wonder if it's a browser thing? I'm on Firefox.

Ok that works. thanks!

...but what a PIA....

The forum owners should really address this....it's 2020 not 2004!

(Or at least make it a sticky)
