We don't like deleting threads here. The fact that you changed your mind does not mean that other people who posted in your thread should have their posts deleted as well...
All in all, I'd say there is no official policy other than the above. Everything in this regard is judged on a case-to-case basis, though. If the OP was a troll and the responses are nothing but flames, we can spare such a thread. If there hadn't been any replies at all, we can trash it, too. Also, if a poster realized they'd put too much personal information, we can help editing their posts (unless they ask us to change a hundred of them ).
If you have anything specific in mind, DM me the link, please and I'll tell you what we can do.

No, it's okay, Marka - I understand what you're saying. I started a thread last night when I was in a bad mood, and after a while I changed my mind about it and wished I hadn't started it. But it's not a big deal. Alpha cleaned it up some, and let it stand. Thanks for explaining, though.
What does it mean when an entire thread disappears? I know that if someone says something that violates the TOS their post can be deleted and I have seen threads closed by the moderator but today I saw an entire thread vanish.I can see where someone might have been annoyed by the topic of the thread in question but nobody said anything really obnoxious and nobody attacked anyone personally that I saw.Maybe it was something I didn't see?
Just curious.
Thanks.Does that mean that the OP deleted the post or was it an administrator? Moderator cut: DM the forum moderator if you wish to know the details, please
