There seems to be quite a bit of interest in the Texas forum about secession, what the national anthem would be, what an independent Texas would be like, etc.
I think most of those are just for fun and not serious.
I'm a Native Texan and even I believe the people behind the "Republic of Texas" movement that started several years ago are a few bricks short of a full load.

Yeah no doubt about it those guys were loony and they were jerks. They filed fraudulent liens against neighbors and kidnapped people and other stuff.
I think a place for threads about a hypothetical independent Texas might be fun though.
