I've been trying to find information about how on earth the scum bags that adopted Baby Enna Baretto and six other small children from Guatemala managed to adopt all these children, or even one child. Apparently there was an adoption agency involved in at least some of the adoptions but since adoption info is confidential I can't find anything on how it happened. I'm shocked that these sorry excuses for human beings even managed to pass the home study but apparently they did. Does anyone know?

In case you haven't heard about the case this is what happened: A horrible woman in rural Mississippi and her equally horrible husband brought their two-year old adopted daughter to the hospital with a head injury and a story that didn't add up. When the baby died the police went to the family's trailer home and found two older kids who were the woman's biological daughters and in a separate trailer attached to the home they also found six small children in cribs that were lined up and dirty. In the back of the home they also found a horrific puppy mill with 185 dogs and 25 cats living in filth in tiny cages.
The home was also filthy and the children were clearly neglected. It turned out that the seven small kids, including Enna, had all been adopted over just a few years and had been left in the care of the teenage daughter who wasn't doing a very good job at it. Later it turned out that Enna's head injury was caused when the teen daughter tossed her into the mattress-less crib in frustration. She was eventually convicted of causing the death but due to circumstances only got a few years. The real villains - the "parents" - however, skipped bail and is still on the run.

The surviving children have all since been re-adopted and the cats and dogs were also seized and adopted out, minus the ones that were in such bad shape they had to be euthanized.
Two of the adoptions of the seven Guatemalan kids seemed legit but paperwork for the other five were missing. However, somehow these kids got into the country. They came from somewhere. Somehow these people had adopted them or just started "caring" for them. How the heck can that happen without anyone noticing? How did people living in a trailer with a puppy mill in the back yard get approved to adopt even once? That's what I want to know.
