Don't forget that most threads started in this forum are from US-based people. US Americans have quite a unique view on these things, though most are not aware how unique it is.

Kev, Certainly the OP took this from a story he had read. There isn't all that much room for a very long detailed title. Why pick over that? He is said to be the first white leader since the end of Apartheid. That's been 20 years. If you want to challenge the newspapers reporting of the story, be my guest.
Racism exists across the world
Look at Zimbabwe and the state sponspred racism and persecution of white people
Western nations are the most tolerant in the world
Praying for the day that Europe will peacefully elect a Black prime minister or president.
Just one administrative minister in Italy and thrown bananas and racial epithets are the order of the day.
And yet Europeans love to rant about how "racist" the US is! The "immigrant problem" that so consumes Europe, is an alien concept in the USA, so much so that those who enter illegally are even bold enough to demand that they enjoy the full rights of a citizen. In most parts of Europe even the GREAT grand kids of visible immigrants dare not ask for this, and are expected to meekly meld in and keep quiet, even as they face social and economic exclusion.
