Somewhere around here, there is a thread where someone said that the people in that region are considered "Caucasoid". I can't remember who said that or the thread it was in but if I find it, I will post it. What do those of you who may actually know anything about this think of that?
The people from that region are mixed and have been so since ancient times some do have Caucasian like features.
Most Horners belong to the cu****c subrace. The cu****es are an ancient people whove been recieving eurasion admixture from the Arab peninsula and North Africa for 20000 years. Theyre considered a hybrid race as they cluster between caucasions and SSAs. So they are in a way racially ambiguius from a genetics point of view. The average nonssa admixture is around 40 percent while in the ethnic groups that belong to the Habesha branch (Semitic-Cushiitic), whove recently recieve semitic admixture (3000 yrs ago) can reach up to 60 percent non SSA admixture.(n). Many claim that the aquiline nose is native to those parts because the first human migration out of Africa probably took place in the Horn of Africa(yemen and Djibouti is only seperated by 20kms pf sea) and, some say Ethiopian and the horners are descendents of protocaucasions who left to conquer the world and so they would have some of the features already.
Then you have the semitic-Cu****c groups known as the Habeshas/Abyssinians..who generally look more arabid in their appearance. The mainly reside in the highlands of Ethiopia and Eritrea. The habeshas were cu****es who used to control southern Arabia before the rise of Islam. They had an African empire called Aksum which had been at one point one of 4 major regional powers at the time. Because they colonised parts of southern arabia, they mixed wth the native yemenis and they adopted semitic culture. http://i.imgur.com/84RzJpA.jpg
Theres been quite alot of mixing with invading cu****c groups such as the Oromos recenlty which why many have lost their semitic look but regions such as Tigray and Northern Amhara still maintain their old abyssinian phenotype.
