Tangier is OK but you should couple it with southern Spain.

If you visit Morocco, you need to visit Marakesh and the surrounding area.

Tangir is great. It is hilly green and the Atlantic coastline reminds me of northern California. And it has a nice soul as well. One
Hour ferry ride from tariffs Spain. I preferred it on some ways to Marakkesh which had way too many tourists!

Having just come back from South Africa, I would heartily recommend South Africa for an African trip. It's a beautiful country with dramatic mountain ranges, gorgeous beaches (cold beaches--Cape town, and warm beaches--Durban) , a wonderful cosmopolitan world class city (Cape Town), magnificent game reserves with all kinds of animals, and a very very friendly people.

I've been a subscriber of Conde Nast Traveler magazine for a very long time.

Today I received the April 2017 edition and was surprised to see the title "Into Africa." I said to myself ok, I guess this issue is about African travel destinations. I thought they were going to focus on the usual countries (Kenya for wild safaris, South Africa for city travel, Tanzania for Victoria Falls; etc).

I was pleasantly surprised to see many articles on some of the usual countries, but also on totally unexpected ones. The articles are tastefully written and the photos are very nice.

Anyone interested in travelling to Africa, or just interested in the place, should buy the April 2017 edition of this magazine. Highly recommend it.

Moroccan cities of choice are Marrakesh, Fez and Rabat. There are so many really nice vacation spots in Morocco. Lots of options.

I really liked Egypt....but higher safety risk then Morocco.

My stay in SA (W Cape) was so enjoyable (a far cry from an overrated country like CR, and at least as good as Mexico and Thailand, countries I quite enjoyed- ) taht I plan to go back early next year, I'm planning to visit the Kruger, then take a short flight to Zambia to see the Victoria Falls and end up on the beach in St Lucia. I'll be able stay 5-6 weeks I hope (I should be then in pre-retirement, God willing!)

I have been there twice since 2012. Remnants of apartheid and problems? Where? And yet you say its very westernized?
We found it to be very safe. Staying in 5 different private game reserves.
LOVE Cape Town, what a gorgeous city!

OP -If your Travel agent is well connected, you can get pricing in SA Rand. Which is a huge savings.
