Any insights on what South Africa would look like(i.e. society-wise) in a post-covid-19 world?

IMO, the globe will face a serious recession most nations are re-evaluating business and consumption at the local levels. The SA property market has been on the decline for at least a year and they've been having issues with the airline industry, unemployment was already high so I think it will be a serious issue after COVID19 they should be making plans to help their industries/people, SA has always been a tourist destination so I think that industry will bounce back (not right away but it will bounce back- but if there are travel bans/testing this sector won't come back quick at all) Their retail sector doesn't look good right now either but I think that this too will bounce back.

It seems like the SA government is not forward thinking. But the West and Asian markets will be more interested in SA as well as other countries in Africa so they need to have a long term plan/goals/policies. I only see more foreign investors as a result of COVID19. Crime IMO will be on the incline and there will be racial tension. But businesses will grow.

In addition, I think it will be a buyers paradise.

Now not too long ago a few posters couldn't wait to take the opportunity to post about civil unrest in South Africa without even understanding the issue or care for the people it was affecting yet they merely gloat over a tragic event.

There are roots to these problems. People take action when problems and tensions arise. These incidents are not just an African problem but it does affect people that look like us worldwide.

If you are a South African - African - African American, murder against black people too often happens and civil unrest and tension exist in the West.
