South Africa is one of Africa's most stable countries. It has its challenges, but the fearmongering is baseless. It is NOT on the verge of becoming a failed state.

Why is the homicide rate so high on those Caribbean islands that are supposed to be fun-loving tropical paradises?

Nope. Native Africans have 53 native-ruled African countries choose from. Whereas, white South Africans are a hated minority. They should be first in line to my country. As an American, I welcome them.

They seem to do so well to be "a hated minority." The supposedly 'hated' minority groups in South Africa all have more money and better educational attainment than the black majority.

Which may be one of the reasons why they are a hated minority. Envy is an ugly thing.

The black population was simultaneously excluded and exploited for the benefit of white South Africans and foreign capital. They were excluded and oppressed (i.e. Apartheid and segregation) to assuage the fears of working-class white South Africans and they were exploited by white and foreign capital for their benefit. That is why there can be an undercurrent of resentment. Further, progress toward expanding opportunities for black Africans and other disadvantaged groups in South Africa has been very disappointing for a variety of reasons.

For immigration? That article was referring specifically to minorities.

Probably it's related to drug trafficking. Plenty of drugs are grown/created in Colombia/Venezuela and most go to the USA. Those islands are in the way.
