AI doesn't have a physical component in and of itself. I suppose AI could replace the drive through window attendant who takes orders, and just display orders on a screen after interacting with the customer, but you would still need a robot of some sort to deliver the meal.
AI can't replace a drive though window attendant wither. You would need a microphone and a speaker.... just like you would need a robot to deliver the meal...
Perhaps they can be programmed to replace all of the political positions. Now that would be worth supporting.
It can if it's given the correct factual knowledge, parameters, and authority.

Technology is good, but not when it takes jobs away from people.
Jobs will always be displaced and created. We can't have people sitting in the counter that tell people how to fill a form and wait until they're called jobs. Then the people who sit in the office that just emails and forward all day. These aren't really careers.

Pull up to a kiosk type screen, hit a few buttons, your meal is delivered at window #2. Or they take only online app orders, you confirm which window you are at and the meal window is opened electronically and your meal sits there in a bag.

There is a microphone and speaker where you order for drive through. Connect it to a chip with AI and you are done. The AI chip/worstation/cloud does not need a separate speaker or microphone.
Maybe you haven't ordered Starbucks drive through or any other drive through in 20 years?

Right... you need additional investment beyond the AI itself. You need the screen, at the minimum. Perhaps a robot if it's making your meal for you.

You still need additional hardware. These existing kiosks can't run NLP & ML models as they sit... nor communicate with a backend that can. Any AI solution will need more than just the AI itself. It's not just robotics that need physical components.
Companies will definitely explore it and we'll have this in place in the coming years.

I use my phone app to order Chick-fil-Aor McDonald's. McDonald's has kiosks inside their restaurants where you can place your order. There is a test McDonalds restaurant where the food is sent automatically to the drive thru customer. I believe Wendy's is working on an ordering system AI which will eliminate the need for human order takers. Its debuting in June.

It's going to be everywhere soon...
