about Firestone park. Is it really that bad of a place to live? I'm looking at a house in that area. Is there anything I should know about or is it just like normal things you should be worried about? I know its not 100% safe. and I also know that anywhere you move to pretty much you're going to have problems. However, I grew up in New Castle, Pa... not the nice part of it either. and I lived in Woodbridge, Va and Fredericksburg, Va. If any of you know about those areas, can you compare? While living in Fburg, it was a dominantly black area...and I'm a white girl. lol. But I made friends with everyone and I felt safe there even if everyone else didn't. and in Woodbridge, it was mostly Hispanics. I kinda felt out of place and couldn't really talk to anyone but I also didn't run into any problems there (except for the occasional person trying to sell me drugs...ha) So, I'm not worried about races and I'm not racist in any way shape or form. What I am worried about is getting my house shot at and car broken into. How probable is this? From talking to a lot of people, about half said to stay away, and the other half said I'd be alright. Input is greatly appreciated.

If you're used to living in an urban setting, and used to minor crime, then Firestone Park isn't too bad. Yes, there is definitely the occasional crime, but overall, it's far better than, say the Copley Road corridor, Kenmore area or near north (inside Tallmadge Ave).

I don't live in the city of Akron, but do a lot of travelling through it, and work in the city. If I were to live inside the city, my first choice would be either Ellet or the far NW (e.g. Fairlawn-ish), followed then by Firestone Park.

Ditto, unless you're way far north. The core of Firestone Park is still pretty good.

I live behind Tangiers on Market Street, Not bad, Yet. Unless Mayor Don "Nero of Rome" lays off 10% of the police force. I pine for the days of Wayne County living, but I'm stuck. Gotta go now, hafta finish making my reloads.
