Does anyone know any specific apartment complexes in Akron near the univeristy that is safe, quiet, and nice to live (afforable too)?

That would be Highland Square/West Hill area, about a 5 minute drive west on Market Street from downtown. Plenty of high rise apartments and a good place for college folks to hang out. Way better than living near campus, which is crime ridden, especially around Brown Street. There has been a police crackdown which netted 80 suspect felons/vagrants in Akron, and still ongoing. Avoid south-southeast Akron altogether. You can't throw a rock there without hitting someone that is not up to any good. Use big rocks if you go there.
