Out of ideas on how to make someone listen. My husband and I have been living in our apartment since December. He lived in a smaller unit for a year prior. I was relieved when we needed a bigger place because his (shared wall) neighbor was a younger girl, obviously supported by her parents and threw a party every night. When my husband and I first met, I would go visit and numerous times found packaged marijuana laying outside on the ground. The report was disregarded. We thought by moving to another building (3 down from where we were) it would be a little more calm.. WRONG! First off, if you search for South point Apartment homes in Foley, AL, the pictures on the site are very misleading. Not to mention there is NOTHING "luxurious" about it. The management does what she wants to do, for whom she wants to do it. The weather stripping on every door/winddow is dried out and/or missing. We pay for pest control, yet we've seen them ONCE since we moved. The exterior doors in this particular unit, are less than a foot apart and you know each time the neighbor walks out, which typically starts about 7pm and goes on ALL NIGHT. To make matters worse, my "neighbors" consists of a woman in her late 40s, her new husband in his late 20s. Her 19 year old son, his 20 year old girlfriend.. The son's 22 year old sister, her husband, their 3 kids (all under 5 years old and two huge dogs.. In a TWO BEDROOM! The dos bark constantly and have been warned by the cops since management seems to not care. They aren't even concerned about the number of non-contracted tenants. The water bill used to be $20/month. Found out it's NOT based on what WE use, but the usage of our complete building and has jumped to $50/month, due to the amount of people next to us. This is crazy. The dogs have "snapped" at my legs several times as I am walking out my door. Have left me "surprises" ON my doorstep more times than i care to admit. I have had wet tobacco from cigarettes tracked onto my carpet. I have plumes of smoke coming through my bathroom vents, from their unit. I'm at a complete loss as to what to do next. Point being.. Moderator cut: snip Can't wait for the lease to expire. May even break contract.

If it is a property management company, you need to find (through tax records) who OWNS the buildings and contact them directly, in writing, with documented dates and times, police report dates, etc.. You have the right to, the exact phrase skips my mind just now, peaceful enjoyment of your premises. If the owner does not come through, after you have sent certified documentation, then you will need to read your lease for the "out" clause that is there, contact an attorney, or risk a damaging ding on your credit report and bill collectors if you break the lease. Good luck.
