Does anyone have any information on this massive project slated for Auburn-Opelika?

Supposedly, they are still planning it. Silver Companies still has it on their site. It sounds nice. I hope it really happens

From there site:
Celebrate Alabama is the latest signature Celebrate Destination to be announced by Silver Companies. This premier retail, entertainment and attractions destination will be located between Atlanta, Ga. and Montgomery, Ala. (close also to the tremendous growth of Columbus, Ga.) in the Opelika/Auburn trade area.
The 535-acre site features two miles of frontage on I-85 and will at build-out encompass 4 million square feet of retail space.

I posted a thread on this a while back when this was still in full swing. As of now from what I have read and heard. They are still fully committed to this. They paid over $20,000,000.00 for the land so I think they are committed! But grading on the land has ceased for now because of the economy. Development will continue when the economy turns around most likely sometime early next year.

Thumbs up Update on Celebrate Alabama - Opelika

Celebrate Alabama will be located in Opelika on I-85. The location is great because it's between Montgomery and Atlanta, just 100 miles from B'ham and 25 miles from Columbus, Ga. It is true that the development slowed down due to the economy. However, Silver Co. is proceeding with the development of 50-60 acres. Not sure what will be developed. This development when in full swing, will be a HUGE asset to Opelika and the surrounding area of East Ala and West Ga. The intent is to draw people from areas up to 250-300 miles away. That's a lot of people to draw from. Probably in the neighborhood of approximately 10 million people in that radius. Granted, Opelika is not a large city and is not a destination for many except for the au football games each year.

This development will put Opelika on the map for many people. It will employ approximately 5,000 people when completed. It is a BILLION $$ investment. It will be the largest employer in the Opelika area and possibly the state of Alabama (excluding state employees). Congratulations to Opelika and it's leaders. Opelika is a boom town and will continue to be with it's aggressive leadership and location.

The Celebrate Alabama development is located on I-85 in Opelika. NOT AUBURN!!!!! Auburn would love to have this development in it's city limits. If they did, they never mention Opelika along side their name sake for such a large development. Thanks to the city leaders of Opelika for landing this huge development.
