Does anyone know how to handle a problem I have? I am in a UE appeal atm. I sent all my documnets in on 7/31/2012 and on 8/6/2012 the UE said they sent me a letter stating my telephone hearing would be 8/14/2012 at 10am. Ok I never received a letter about this and they denied me and said I will lose and have to file a second appeal at which I get no hearing at all. The lady in hearing and appeals said to get a note from the post office saying I never received a letter which is impossble since they didn't send the letter with signature or delivery confirmation. How can I prove I didn't get this letter or how can I get my telephone hearing on my first appeal which i deserve. It's not my fault the post office or whoever scred up and I never received the letter with my court date. Also does anyone know about the 2nd appeal process how good a chance you have with it? My case btw is I quit becasue of a disability and gave recent doctors note in evidence proving it. I also said how the job I was given wasn't the job I was told I was going to be doing and if it was I could have done it with my disability. In a nutshell though I just wanna know how I can get my telephone hearing since they are being complete buttholes about it.

I am no expert here but I would suggest you call back and talk to a supervisor or look online and find out who is the head of UE in AL. You can also call back and see if you get a different person who may be able to help you. Of course the your mail man is gonna remember if he put that letter in your mail box.

Good Luck...

I mean delivering thousands of letters a day I don't see how the mailman could dremember what he delivered 2 weeks ago, it's like they are asking the impossible. Unless it had delivery or signature confirmation, it didn't though.

What is UE? And atm means automated teller machine to me. It drives me nuts to read posts with all these acronyms that we are supposed to figure out their meaning. I would love to help but I don't have a clue what we are talking about here.

It sounds like a legal issue to me and the only good advice you are going to get is to get an attorney. If you are dealing with the government, most likely somebody there screwed up as they usually do and they really don't care. The only way you will get anywhere is by hiring an attorney.

It might be easy to understand if you are given a context which we weren't. In my mind, UE = United Emirates and atm = the thing you get money from. People use them because they develop the poor grammar habits texting on cell phones and it ends up carrying over into more formal settings such as email and forum posts. This is why they now have required college classes in the English department that include instruction on how to properly write emails and memos. After reading your original post a couple of times (which annoys me to do) I guessed you probably meant "at the moment" but as far as UE goes, I had no idea. Thanks for clearing it up and I believe my previous post pretty much covered what actions you should take.

I have nothing real to comtribute but I'm glad the "atm" was figured out.

I figured out the UE because it had something to do with a job but I was at a loss as to why the OP was at an ATM looking for a hearing lol.

OP I do wish you luck. Maybe if you got a chance to turn the tables on them and ask that they prove that they did indeed mail out the notice and you received it. I got out of a double billing once doing that.

I'm 35 and probably sent a text 4 times my entire life. I despise texting. I have a college degree and took english 101 . This also is a internet forum and not somewhere where impressing people with grammar really matters. I think I remember seeing atm used as (at the moment) idk ( i don't know ) about 15 years ago or so. I guess you haven't spent much time on the internet. I picked up UE from this website and only have 10 posts, weird your a senior member and just now see it. It just seems like you want to complain more than answer anyone's questions (which annoys me), but I have it taken care of.

I'm not saying you need to bedazzle people with grammar. I'm just saying that when you use a lot of acronyms, people may not understand or may misinterpret your post. Especially without a context being given. The common ones like idk, lol, j/k everyone gets but when you start using acronyms for uncommon words in a question it becomes confusing. The fact that you made this post in this very popular website and only received responses from three members, two of which including myself responded with confusion; should give evidence to people dismissing your post because they didn't understand what you were asking. My wife read your post and didn't understand what you were asking and she is in human resources for crying out loud.

I spend far more time on the internet than I should. I have been a member of many sites for 10-15 years and have hundreds of thousands of posts. I have been a moderator on a number of forums for the last 3-8 years and we see this all the time. People post using acronyms instead of taking a couple of seconds to type out the words and then their post gets ignored or receives incorrect answers. I have seen UE along with atm but depending on the context they mean different things and I like most others won't take the time to figure it out. The fact that you picked up the habit here reading the forums only reenforces my point. The college English course that now addresses this problem is usually 300 or 301 which are Business and Technical writing.

I didn't mean for this to turn into a wissing contest. I was just trying to help but your post was confusing, so I pointed it out. Usually I just back out of the thread and move on to one that is understandable.
