I live on the outskirts of Birmingham, but just found out my job may be in jeopardy. The options are to either move to Montgomery (which I wouldn't live in the city, for various reasons, so Pike Road or Prattville), Auburn, or the Atlanta metro area if I want to keep my job. Can anyone tell me pros and cons about these places? I've searched on here, but can't really find much opinions on Pike Road, or living in Auburn (as a family, not a college student).

Thanks.

Pike Road is a fairly popular suburb, as is Prattville. If you'll be going back and forth to Birmingham a lot, Prattville might be the better choice. Prattville has good schools - not so sure about Pike Road. Kids in Montgomery tend to go to the private schools, but the 'burbs might be OK.

Yeah, I was interested in pike road or prattville due to availability of land, plus the new school system that is going up in pike road. Love the country feel of the two, and auburn. Travel to b'ham wouldn't be job related any longer. Any thoughts on Auburn as a place to plant roots for the family?
