Are there any +55 neighborhoods in Auburn/Opelika area or anywhere in Alabama?

There are areas in Auburn where folks are mostly in the retirement years of their lives...but I think they are there because they raised their families and stayed in the same house. I don't think there are any senior exclusive homes/neighborhoods however.

I none of none in Alabama. We're not exactly a hot destination for those kinds of developers. Thank goodness.

I hope this does not sound wrong - the semi-retired population does move into seclusion. Just the opposite. They are into everything.

Why not? The senior folks have all the money, don't have kids to raise your school taxes. I suppose you would rather have a development aimed at babymakers. Then you get to build schools for them.

I'd rather see non-exclusive neighborhoods where there is no restriction based on age. We used to live in a historic neighborhood, and one of the great joys of being there was the wide range of ages - newborn to 90s - as well as the range of income, race, and architectural styles. And as everyone benefits from good education, I don't mind building schools for the young folks...who will, after all, take care of us old folks!

There are plenty of non-exclusive neighborhoods everywhere. I would like to live in a +55 neighborhood.

You will not find such a neighborhood in AL aside from some assisted living facilities with services ranging from complete care to potential care under one roof.
