Hello All,

So after thoroughly reading through the posts, my hopes of landing a job in Montgomery is looking more and more grim (I hope someone can change my outlook on this)

But my good friend and coworker both just landed long term contracts with ALDOT. We both are in our mid-20s....single....and trying to find an area where a young professional would live in the Montgomery area....

we would both prefer not to go too far to go out (since drinking and driving is not an option....and we don't want a $50 cab ride every weekend we go out).

I was wondering if anyone has any insight on where we could find places to rent?? I was thinking maybe Cloverdale? (close to Huntingdon College...should have some nightlife there) or maybe more near the East side (which is what I've been seeing all around the forums that the East side is nicer)

We both have never been down there at all....so any insights would help....we both are making a decent living so no limit on rent expenses...just nothing over 2000/mo for a 2BR apt....

Please help us find a neighborhood/area we should look at! Looking for a neighborhood with nightlife and nicer area! Any help would be appreciated.

At this point living downtown would provide better nightlife than Cloverdale. Although I have no firsthand knowledge I believe there are new loft apartments downtown. They might be worth a look. Tallapoosa St now has bars and restaurants and can get really busy on some nights. It's going to be a somewhat older crowd, but it is what it is. Could be fun I think.

Cloverdale is also a great option though. More residential but very nice. There is a bar and a great music club down the street from Huntingdon College. Nice place but more quiet. While it would be more than enough for me personally, the nightlife is very low key most of the time.

Living out East wouldn't be bad. Of course you'll be more dependent on a car. Look off of Vaughn Rd past Eastern Blvd or look off Atlanta Hwy past Bell Rd.
