I lived in Alabama for several years, and the stereotype that Alabama is racist is absolutely true. Same goes for all of the southern states, really. With the advent of the tea party and these new found "patriots" now that a black man is in office, the racism doesn't contain even a modicum of covertness -- it is very much in your face these days.

It is obvious that some new posters have not read the terms of agreement for this forum. You are not allowed to insult others. It is difficult to have a discussion with someone who believes they know it all. No one has said that Alabama has no racists, instead we are trying to say that not everyone in Alabama is racist. Also, racism is everywhere, and no one has debated that either. If you only resort to insults, you are not a rational person capable of carrying on a discussion.
Having lived in Alabama doesn't make anyone an expert on all parts of the state. I lived there too, but I don't claim to know everything about every area. I do know I did not experience racism or witness it.
