Hi. We are looking at a possible move in Jan. for a job which is located near the Singing River Bridge. We are from the B'ham area and have never been up that way. We are looking for suggestions for housing, either in Florence or within a 20 minute drive of the work area.

We would prefer a newer neighborhood or subdivision, in the $100,000 range, one story, 3 br, 2 ba, w/garage or renting for the first year - comparable home size in the $800-900 range. NO SCHOOL AREA needed (kids older and out of home).

Any helpful info on the area, home communities, and/or rental homes/apartments would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The area between Florence and Loretta, Tn. Might be worth consideration. This area is rural which might or might not be a problem. I don,t recall the mileage between Florence and the Tn. Stateline, but Tn. Doesn't have a State income tax.

Florence is not a big city. You should come up and drive around to get a feel for the area. You may not find a lot of newer construction. Twenty miles out is going to be rural, no question. Heck, 10 miles out is rural.
You might get lucky and find a place on the river.
