There's really not a lot there other than the beach itself, as Gulf Shores-Orange Beach are much more tourist-oriented.

Dauphin Island does have the Estuarium and Fort Gaines, and Bellingrath Gardens is between Mobile and Dauphin Island.

Ok, thanks...then i better include Gulf Shores in my RV trip as well. I trust the hurricane damage is cleared up now in Gulf Shores (?) . Is there a superb seafood buffet you can highly recommend in Gulf Shores ? Thanks., David.

Yes, Gulf Shores is back to normal.

I don't know of any buffets particularly, but several of the seafood places run specials (like an all-you-can-eat fried shrimp on a given night of the week). I know that Sea-N-Suds occasionally has all-you-can-eat fried mullet.
Here's a link to the restaurants on the official travel site:

Three days is a long time at DI unless you just love the beach. Per Alatex, visit Fort Gaines and the DISL Estuarium, plus the Audubon Sanctuary. Spend the rest of the time on the beach or fishing. There are a couple of seafood restaurants at DI, plus a bar / grill.

Ride the ferry to Fort Morgan, eat at Tacky Jack's Fort Morgan. Keep going to Gulf Shores...
