Well, as someone who votes Republican more often than not, I can safely say that one would have to be a complete bonehead to vote for Moore. Even if you are morally vacuous enough to vote for a guy who had a police officer assigned to keep him from trolling high school football games for dates, there are plenty of other reasons.

1) Has no clear understanding of the Constitution of the United States or the law. His statements about the Constitution only applying to Christians and that Muslims have no right to an elected office pretty much shows ignorance of both Article VI and the First Amendment. All my friends who are attorneys, many pretty conservative people, flatly state that his grasp of legal concerns was specious at best.

2) Personal corruption. Let's see. His wife sits on the board of a Christian foundation that, coincidentally, he earned close to a million bucks over the course of five years. As a bonus, he failed to report this income on his taxes.

3) Damage to the conservative cause. If you think sending this loon to Washington is going to benefit the GOP in any way, well, you're out of your mind. Not only will Roy Moore be the poster child for the Democratic Party already licking its chops over the mid-terms, but he will likely be a hindrance to the GOP leadership. Stop listening to the truth-challenged Breitbart freaks. If you value conservatism in any way, shape, or form, you will be doing serious damage to the cause with this guy as your most vocal spokesperson in DC.

Default Roy Moore - Why Alabama will always be a laughing stock

Seriously - what states do Americans think of when we hear the terms "backward", "Uneducated" and worse.

I like Republicans like Ron Paul -less government - less taxes ,but even in Texas social media is full of jokes at Alabama's expense.

Its pretty clear Moore had some very young girls and while I think we don't always need to be politically correct - this guy is absurd. The attacks on him started out in the GOP so I can't blame the Dems for latching on.

Don't Alabamans have some pride or does it not matter what the rest of the country thihks?

This is typical liberal IDENTITY POLITICS. Liberals keep reverting to trying to SHAME you if you're not on their side of issues and candidates. That doesn't work anymore.

BTW it is critical that the people of Alabama don't let the Democrats steal this senate seat. What comes next? This is also an attack on the Republican party. If this was really JUST about Roy Moore (and not about trying to steal a senate seat) then this would have been brought up during the republican primary! They PURPOSELY waited until it was down to the Dem VS Republican election because that was the ONLY way they could pull off a victory. Think about that.

The bottom line is that if you support Trump then you MUST vote for Moore.

It's a matter of whether or not the good people of Alabama can possibly elect a Bible-thumping demagogue who doesn't understand the Constitution, cynically twists the Christian faith around to suit his purposes, and evidently, based on past history, will be casting a covetous eye towards the Senate pages. And I say this as someone who normally votes Republican.

I guarantee you this. If a knuckle-dragging mullah like Roy Moore gets elected to the Senate, it will be a catastrophe for the Republican Party.

Dude. You're some guy up in Alaska. We've been living with Roy Moore for quite a long time. He is pond scum. If you want the GOP to keep the Senate, stop nominating such freaks to run under the party banner.

Yep. Concern about a thirty or forty something man chasing 14 year old girls is just part of the "liberal agenda". And how dare them eeeeeeevil liberals resort to the use if shaming in such matters!

If I still lived in Alabama and that piece of trash Roy Moore got elected it would honestly disgust me to be apart of that state. They can vote for whoever they want obviously, but he's disgusting. I don't care if he was a democrat or republican that's disgusting in either party period.

This.

Also you can squarely lay the blame for Roy Moore on those "evangelicals" that mostly live in the exurban and rural parts of the state where I guess they still think it's ok for a 30-something year old man to chase teen girls.
