Sad to see them go.
It could be successful again if the right investors picked it up. People want a good quality restaurant with fresh well prepared food that they are familiar with and trust.

Very sad, they had such good food. Just today I purchased unsweetened almond milk at the grocery store, its 30 calories per serving so 2/3 less calories than skim. The stuff taste amazing for what it is, I never knew milk could be so good at low calorie. I wish a chocolate milk 30 calorie almond milk exist, and it might, haven’t looked yet but even though I am really crunching calories and turning healthy I still loved Ruby Tuesday! Their salad bar was delicious! On the low down, any you homies got a hooter?

Luby Cafeteria came back largely because they found someone with deep pockets to finance it and was able to sell the Fuddrucker's chain and the real estate underlying the cafeterias. It was heading into liquidation.

I have been in a couple of their stores in the last month. I would say that if you are 50 years old, you might be the youngest person in the restaurant. They have a major demographic problem as I see it - you do NOT see young people in the restaurant unless they are accompanied by their grandparents.

So that there are no misunderstandings, I do like the old-style Southern cafeterias. As a poor graduate student, I think that I ate half of my meals at Furr's Cafeteria.

Used to love going there years ago. Then the removed cottage cheese off the salad bar. That was it for me. LOL.

In reality it was the beginning of the end for me. That's just when I noticed choices getting removed and prices going up.

Many (if not all) Ruby Tuesday places closed around here. Quality went really downhill, service went downhill, prices went up. The food is basically what they get from the food service place and reheat it (which I could do at home).

For the general public, not that I know of unless it's the Golden Corral. Is it still open?

No, the Golden Corral in Huntsville closed. Gone the way of Ruby Tuesday, Shoney's, TGI Friday, and Ryan's.
