I think it's about time to include these areas in the thread. All of these areas are seeing grow and many people are moving into these areas. They are just as important as the other areas mention from Alabama in the thread. Georgia includes all of its areas totaling five.

The Auburn and Montgomery crowd doesn't seem to exist here and Baldwin County just goes to Mobile forum

i think they only create sub forums if there's enough engagement / activity to warrant it. but on the other hand, people in those areas probably don't post as much because there are sub forums created for them. sort of a chicken and egg dilemma.

I just moved to Deatsville - north of Montgomery and I'd love to see more threads about what's going on in the area. I'm sure there isn't more participation just because this area does not fit in with any of the subforums and people don't know where to discuss it.

It’s up to the mods to convince, not us. They hold the power. I mentioned this years ago in Kentucky forum and got suspended for questioning a moderator on why more forums couldn’t be created outside of Louisville and Lexington. Ridiculous but it is apparently a sensitive issue.

There ain't no real growth in Montgomery. Auburn and Tuscaloosa are growing but they are mainly just university towns, college students and people who already know about it. That doesn't generate internet traffic on this forum.

The Montgomery area consist of more than the city of Montgomery. There are plenty of areas in the river region area seeing growth. Montgomery has a higher Population than Mississippi’s largest city, yet your city Jackson Mississippi has a forum? Plus you don’t know what internet traffic might be generated. Montgomery is probably the most well known Alabama city maybe tied with Birmingham. I don’t care one way or the other, just curious!!!

It makes sense to try by adding another forum for Montgomery. If there is just a few posters, it could be merged back into Alabama. No idea how or what the criteria is on creating a new forum.

Lee County was number 4 in growth from ‘21 to ‘22 and I suspect, at least a few of those were at the expense of Montgomery which is within commuting distance for many who live in Lee County. When we were trying to decide to buy or build in early 2021, I visited several developments in the Auburn/Opelika area and it felt like a feeding frenzy. Ultimately, we build on land we purchased just a mile or so into Chambers County. No regrets either.
