I like the Stars Fell on Alabama plate, but you don't have to get it. Here's a link to a license tag FAQ at the Alabama Department of Revenue.
Motor Vehicle Division - Registration FAQs
There is a link on that page to take you to the 3 or 4 dozen different types of tags you can get.
You cannot use the old black and white tags (aren't those from the 1950s or early 1960s?). You have to get a new tag.

If I understood right when I went in for my renewal in June, Stars Fell on Alabama tags will be gone after next year.

I really hate they are doing away with our county numbers. They could at least list the county name on the bottom. I like to see where people are from.

So do thieves. Florida changed because the cops discovered that the thieves targeted rental and out of area plates. I agree though, seeing some sense of order in something a government does is pleasant.

I think the Stars Fell on Alabama one is a little odd. If you don't know the song it just kinda makes you go, "huh?"

Do you know what plate will replace the standard Stars plate as the default?

Of course in my opinion, this one is the best! Naturally it wouldn't be the default plate though!

If you ever watched the Jackie Gleason Show, that catch phrase brings up an image of Norton.

I'm also moving to Alabama soon....from Maine and will need to register my car. Currently I don't have the title for my vehicle because I have a bank loan for it, I understand that I'll need to go through the application process to have the title transfered but can any one tell me approximately how long I can expect that process to take?

THANKS!!!!

Alabama is the same as far as the financial institution holding the title. I can not help you with the registration from another state.

All you need is your registration from the other state and proof of car ins, plus an AL driver's license.
