Yes Baldwin County is an excellent place to live. It has good schools and good healthcare. A high school classmate of mine is the Administrator of a hospital there...and of course some of the most beautiful beaches in the United States are in Baldwin County.

I'd suggest you take a weekend and get a realtor. Tell them about your needs, budget etc. They will recommend one of several towns in the county which include Spanish Fort, Foley, Daphne, Bay Minette and others...you need to compare towns before making a final decision.

Default baldwin county

baldwin county is like two counties. the eastern shore and south baldwin county which is growing very fast. bay minette is in north baldwin which is still very rural and has not been in the growing boom.

Exclamation Bay Minette

The middle school and the high school are overrun with drugs and the teacher's idea of the no child left behind act is that if no child passes, then no child can be left behind. The city officials are out for theirselves and theirselves alone. There is nothing in this town for kids to do other than get drunk, do drugs, get arressted, and have sex. The only entertainment for adults is to get drunk and beat the living daylights out of each other for no reason. The people in this town are backstabbing and will always be in your business. They love to start rumors and break up families. The food places here suck and are not worth the money. This town is a horrible place to live, but hey, they have a Wal-Mart!

I think you're exaggerating just a bit, but you're right about the food places.

Trust me, I've been living here for seventeen years. It sucks. We have one new store that is ok. It's the Pick N Save in front of Piggly Wiggly. Everything else here sucks. I'm not exaggerating any. I went to the schools and my parents were around when it was worse. I do believe I know what I'm talking about. If you live in the ritzy parts, the neighborhoods aren't as bad, but if you're like most of us and live in true Bay Minette, it's a whole different world.
