Oh yes, some of the best beaches along the coast in fact. Gulf Shores, Dauphin Island, and Orange Beach are all really nice places. Ask anyone in the South and they'll tell you that they're beautiful places.

Just remember - the northern gulf coast is not all that warm in the winter. Bring a wetsuit if you want to do any swimming.

I would choose Orange Beach. Gulf Shores is not bad either - very touristy. Both are very small towns, but definitely beach towns. I really enjoy the whole area, as both towns are right next to each other on the coast.

Gulf Shores is the place to go. There is a nice place called the "Hang Out" right on the gulf. Nice restaurant and live entertainment. They have a website, just google hangout gulfshores. You can also visit the "Pink Pony" an original gulf shores restaurant / bar. This is where the locals spend most of there time. The "Sea n Suds" is a restaurant at the entrance to an old gulf pier, HINT: oysters on the half shell. The nice thing about all of these places is they are all easily accessible from a number of condos on the gulf. You can reach them all by walking up / down the beach, no need to drive! There is a condo centrally located between each of these places but I can't recall the name right now. Contact the folks at the Hang Out and they will give you the name. What ever you do, if you like live entertainment you must visit the Hang Out. They have a great layout, and even a place for kids to play.

These are all good suggestions. Mind you, that it won't be warm enough for you to lay out on the sand and romp in the surf.
