My skin would probably itch me to death out there.

I hate it when the air is dry and windy, it makes my contacts fall out.

Santa Ana winds suck, I hate them too. Every time you touch a door knob you get a shock. But the worst is, whenever I would catch a cold (respiratory infection or something) the SA winds would kick up and the humidity would go down to 8% and it would be 85F in December and you have to humidify your house but that doesn't work because the air conditioning dries the house out.

The humidity is pretty low even here right now, I touched my dog's nose last night and shocked her, she wouldn't come around me for at least 30 minutes. I guess she thought I did it on purpose.

I retired here from FL and I know several other ppl who moved up to N. AL to retire from FL and NY.

There is a state income tax but many pensions are expempt from income tax. Property taxes are low but sales tax is high .08 where I live. Houses are very reasonable as are utilities. I like living in a small town and I have found most ppl are very friendly.

I like the change of seasons and the fireflies. I don't like the tornadoes but they have tornadoes in FL too along with severe thunderstorms and hurricanes.
