I know this won't be exactly what you described as your ideal place, but St. Louis would be very close. It still has a winter, but it's manageable compared to where you are. There are a lot of brownstones. You would love the Soulard, Lafayette Square, Tower Grove neighborhoods, etc. There are many areas of St. Louis that have experienced revitalization, and it's worth taking a look. I've even considered eventually retiring there. Such a dynamic city.
