Good query by the first responder -- a question better posed to a lawyer. But my guess would be that: no, a felony conviction does not bar one from inheriting property under the laws of intestacy in Alabama. That, of course, presupposes that any will involved does not make such a restriction. A decedent can put whatever restrictions he or she would like on an inheritance, such as "to be shared equally among all of my grandchildren who remain free of tattoos". See how that works?

A felon can purchase and sell property, why wouldn't he or she be able to inherit it?

I agree..unless the felon was responsible for the person's demise, then they would not be entitled to anything
