Flying Wild Alaska (wt)

Premieres Wednesday, January 5 at 9 PM ET/PT

FLYING WILD ALASKA (WT) follows the unconventional Tweto family that rules Alaska's most dangerous skies. Operating their family-run airline, Era Alaska, they battle unforgiving Alaska weather and terrain to transport life's necessities to one of the most remote and extreme regions of America. With no freeway system for hundreds of miles, Era Alaska is the lifeline for the isolated rural inhabitants of the Bering Sea coastline. From champion snow dogs bound for the Iditarod to medicine for sick children to groceries for miners working on an operation on the North Slope, the goods that the intrepid pilots ship on any given day are crucial to everyday life.

I know Jim! He's a great guy and was a great boss to work for. I miss his brother Ron who was killed in a test flight of a Beech 1900 a few years back. They shot some of the show here in Bethel.

Well I guess we could look at it as good for the tourism trade.

One evening they had all of their fleet up in the air at one time shooting night landings here in Bethel, should be cool to see on tv.

I think this will be a fun show. Saw Ariel Tweto on Wipeout and she's a hoot! Again another Alaskan who is taking her 15 minutes of fame and turning it into a career.

^ I agree! The shows about Alaska are great for those of us who cannot afford to come visit often, if ever! I am on a budget so tight that it can be tough to go visit my family in AL sometimes, so it is awesome for those of us who are fascinated with Alaska to be able to watch these shows and vicariously experience Alaska. I mean, I would think you all would take it as a compliment. They do tons of shows about Alaska because there is nowhere else on Earth like it. Nowhere. Honestly, I am a very intense geography nerd, and I have never been so fascinated by a place as I am by Alaska.
