I am anticipating my trip North again this Summer and I am trying to decide whether to pull a small sleeping trailer w/a compact SUV using unlead @ 19 mpg, drive a full size PU w/a minimum equipped camper shell using diesel @ 12 mpg or drive the fully equipped monster using diesel @ 8 mpg. I expect to enter Canadian soil via Calgary and Edmonton and pick up Dawson Creek/Alaskan Highway toward Fairbanks. I am planning a few side trips throughout the trek but eventually go toward Anchorage ending in Haines. Obviously, w/$120/barrel oil and w/projections of even higher, the prices will, I am sure, swing upwards. But, just to get some idea, Guys and Gals, can you give me some latest local quotes? Of course, if 3 of my grandkids do travel w/me, my choice is restricted to the 8 mpg wheels.

That's about the same in Fairbanks. But diesel fuel costs around $4.29 this week.

Premium unleaded at BJ's Warehouse is $3.68/gallon. I think I may fill my Corvette up with race fuel tomorrow night.

Oh, that made me think of this picture that I took the other day over in Douglas...

I don't actually know if that was the corvette club or not, but I totally cracked up at these two random dudes hanging out with their perfectly polished corvettes in the middle of a parking lot at like 8 o clock on a saturday night in Douglas. Call it... photo shopping inspiration.

That's funny! And that's what most Corvette owners are about, cleaning & polishing the cars & never driving them.
