It's quite common at least in the native families that live in Southeast to see kids living with grandparents or aunts because they didn't want to live where their parents were. I have two cousins who both came to live with our grandparents to go to high school when they were struggling living in the big city with their mom.
I am surprised this hasn't been floated as an idea by the OP's family. Both of the aforementioned cousins are doing well, graduated and moved into their own places and are supporting themselves with good jobs.

Yes but they will not grant it if you are just going to sign up for welfare and have the state support you instead of your parent/s. You have to be able to support yourself. So, get a job and get to proving that you can support yourself.

If you are already 17, you will probably already hit 18 by the time you get through the courts

Not sure what help I can give, other than to say get up and GO!

You'll not be "emancipated" whilst living in the same house as them. Guaranteed.

Now, my youth was ... not average. Naetheless, mine life experience says get up and go.

You'll live or you'll die. Find out.

PS: You're legally an adult, so act like one. DO SOMETHING! Oh: try to be rational, honest, reliable, and understand you catch more flies with honey rather than vinegar.
