Ok, so this might be a bit random. I'm moving to Alaska in a couple of days and may have a slight problem. I have a nearly whole beef which I raised, killed and processed myself can I import this through Canada? Also I have a pig that I raised myself and had processed for me, but it is not USDA inspected, can I import this? My current problem is I don't seem to be able to prove that it orginated in USA and from which state since I raised them myself. Thoughts ideas or am I just worrying for nothing?

I'm not positive but I believe that you will not be able to bring that meat through with you. If I were you I would trade it with someone there for whatever they will give you. Money is best but it might be illegal to sell it. Maybe illegal to trade it for all I know.

I would definitely check with the border before loading all that meat up with the freezer and everything else you will need to keep it.

We brought a freezer in a 5th wheel with fish from AK to AZ...had fishing license, ID....I don't think they looked at it...3 dogs and no questions. If you are moving and not staying in Canada, and it is not a semi, there should not be a big problem. I cannot even estimate the fish we gave away before moving from MN to AK, because I was worried about it.

You're not wrong. It's really dependent on "who" inspects you at the border. I've had it go both ways. Some are jerks and make up their own rules. Others are pretty cool about stuff.
