Funny that the Russians still concider Alaska as still there and a guy named "Soviet" asks that question?

Kinda weird timing.....

Wait, what?! Are you serious?! Where did you hear that? Could I possibly have a link or something? Very interesting statement. I would have thought the sale was legal tender way back then. The Russian Federation should have no claim on something the Russian Empire sold off. That's like someone trying to get back something their grandpa pawned off.

Real life doesn't work like Harry Potter goblins. Seriously, though, it would be nice to have a link to that claim.

We as Americans pride ourselves for being able to go back years and compensate anyone, group, race or the like for doing them wrong. Even if at the time it was the right way of doing things. Take slavery. Take the Indian Nations. Think about all the things we as Americans pay to those who were never directly a part of. I think we need to give them (Russia) back Afghanistan.

Before arguing with the OP, take a look at the link he provided. It's very easy to realize that there was a little bit of sarcasm on his post, simply because the news that told the story provided a map that did not include Alaska. Well, it barely shows a portion of Alaska along the Canadian border

A, slavery reparations have never happened in any meaningful way, and b, are you seriously saying that slavery was "the right way of doing things" at the time? And that's not even getting into the US's dealings with Native Americans over the years.

Well, the governor of Montana is thinking of giving some Native Americans there some oil and gas holdings as part of reparations, so that should be a good thing there. Let's hope they don't squander it.

And yes, the reason I posted what I posted is that they didn't include Alaska in the United States' red color. Just thought it was funny, that was all, particularly from such a vaunted organization such as CNNMoney. Hahahaha

The current Russian President made that statement on the news about a year or so ago.

They wanted their Territories back and Alaska was mention directly.

I seriously doubt it would happen, but wars are fought over stupid stuff to start with.
