Today Google Maps introduced a new feature, "3D Preview" that gives you a virtual tour--in 3D--to and from any point you choose. Although Google created this as a way to bring your upcoming trip to life, I think it's going be be a fantastic way to get an impression of what it's like to travel around the Alaska road system (or anywhere for that matter).
For example:
Click here for Anchorage to Seward.
To activate, click the "3D" button next to the words "Driving directions to Seward, AK"...
Another example:
