An incredible amount of work went into this bracelet; Lots of time is spent on each and every piece; trying to get them all precise and exact as possible.

Creating a unique bracelet - that sparks the interest in your customers is a very time consuming process. But then again the rewards are well worth it.

Take the time to think.. (keep asking yourself this question) - "What can I do - different??

You will only get out of this... what you put into it. Work hard; work long; Make lots of different things & you WILL become extremely successful!!

I will have more to post... (soon).

Default The End... of another Tusk!

This is all that is left of that last tusk we posted. As you can clearly see; the tag applied by United States Fish & Wildlife Service - Walrus

Raw white ivory that does not have this tag - is illegal

So what to do with this end ? It is much too thin to do anything useful or is it ??

But... if you flip it over, the other end is thick enough to make some oval insets that will be pure ivory when sanded & polished!

Its a brand new year and next post will have a new design (that is old) we have seldom used this but it is an excellent design; just turn a bracelet piece 90 degrees and the space that is between the two pieces is the shape of the new piece much like the shape of a capital I .

This is what I mean by turning the white bracelet piece and adding the filler piece. This design has much more appeal then just square pieces.

Each piece has to be carefully shaped individually and must stay in the same order

The finished - bracelet will mesh together just like puzzle pieces with a tight fit for each piece.

Knife handles are very easily accomplished by removing the old handle material and tracing it on a piece of new material and put it all back together again.

Yes they are quite simple to do and very elegant looking especially when scrim is added or relief type detailed animal shapes.

Use your imagination and have fun and create!

Yesterday, we purchased two 9 foot strips of ballen @ the normal price of $10 dollars per foot. We purchased it from a woman we know from Barrow in the local bingo parlor on Northern lights here in Anchorage. She bought it from a person we know very well in Point Hope who recently flew down to Anchorage. She has six more full lengths; we intended to hopefully purchase the remainder of it tomorrow.

This a very popular bracelet design & easy to make; Just keep doing the exact same steps over and over. It doesn't take long to become very good at doing this ... just keep it up and keep going forward.

more photos .. soon
