I feel like a kid at Xmas time. I got my first copy of the Milepost yesterday in the mail. It is the coolest thing I have ever seen on planning a trip. So believe it when others tell ya...GET A MILEPOST!

BTW I got a "New" copy for $17.79 at Amazon.com. They are regularly priced $29.95.

One year I was driving up in February. It dropped down to 40 below about an hour outside of Whitehorse and stayed that way until past Tok. I was driving a little Suburau Justy and the PCV valve kept freezing up. So, on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere I ripped the front & back cover off of my Milepost and used them to block off the front grill of the car. With less cold air flowing over the engine, the PCV valve stopped freezing & the car was a little warmer.
I drove the car like that for a month after I got to Wasilla.
